How our love story became a global movement!

Hello Love,

Today it's personal.

I want to share with you my love story.... Giving you the real behind the scenes on the love of my life and why August 8th is the day we want the world to take a stand for Love!

It all started in that fateful year, 2004...

We met at High Sierra Music Festival. This weekend (July 2nd) marks 12 years since I first laid eyes on my man.

He stopped me in my tracks.

And just for the record I was perfectly happy being single. I was 28 and on top of my game. ((Well, I was working 3 jobs at the time and partying a lot, but it was a pretty great chapter in my life.)

I'd basically come to the conclusion that I would never get married.
I thought I'd probably have a few long term relationships, but mostly be an independent woman living an epic life of my own design.

The Universe had other plans.

Whaaammo!!! Enter Sean McCoy!

There was something about him I could not get over. I was determined to get his number before the festival ended (and I did!).

So when I got home to Eugene, Oregon and couldn't stop thinking about this guy, I flipped a coin to see whether I should call him or not.
(I've made a lot of important life decisions this way.)

It was HEADS (which is yes). I called.

Needless to say, he was a little surprised.

We lived 2 hours away from each other, so we didn't actually have our first date until August 8th, 2004.

Not long after, I moved to Portland (I was going to move anyway. I didn't relocate just for some man, of course ;) ).

We spent those first couple of years pushing and pulling. Falling deeply in love while both being fiercely independent.

But the love was just too strong and thankfully our egos gave in and started being independent together.

We were at a rock concert in 2006 when he proposed.

Right then and there, we decided we'd get married on 8-8-08.

It was our 4 year anniversary of our first date and it felt pretty cosmic.

With the help of friends and family we threw an epic 3-day festival- style wedding and we called it LOVE-fest!

Since then we've been on a powerful adventure...

Truly loving someone else is intense.

Truly loving yourself is intense.

Those two things have to go together for life to really work well.
AND they both take work.

One of the things that makes it work for us is that we are both BIG LOVERS.

We both love people and love to throw parties. We give our love in different ways, but we share the belief that having a BIG, FUN life is where it's at.

Sean doesn't wake up and want to love the whole world everyday, but he is a fierce and loyal brother. If you are in his inner circle he has got your back and then some. He's a true Love Warrior.

AND he accepts that loving me means loving the whole world.

He helps me not take myself so seriously (thank God/Goddess for that) and knows that I am pretty serious about my mission.

SO when I woke up one night in 2012 with the words I STAND FOR LOVE, ringing in my head and I told him I wanted to turn our wedding anniversary into an International holiday unifying the hearts of humanity, he knew there was really no stopping me.

Here we are a few years later and  "I Stand For Love Day" is just around the corner!

It's a simple call to action to unite people from all over the world that believe in the power of love.

On Monday, August 8th, you're invited to join in the I Stand For Love movement by wearing a heart, taking a selfie and sharing with the world on social media.

Use the hashtag #istandforlove and declare to the world that a more loving world is where you want to live.

Let's come together and remember that Love is the solution!

We have to start somewhere.

I believe that when we can see how many people out there (like us) from different walks of life, show up to simply state "I stand for love" it will lift up our hearts and give us hope.

It may even raise the vibration of the planet!

So first step is to make sure we are connected online to stay in the loop:

Click HERE to join our private group on Facebook, and make sure to follow @istandforlove on Instagram!

There will be a world-wide meditation on 8-8-16 that you don't want to miss!

Thanks for reading, my dear! It's fun to share my heart with you!

Stay tuned for more and in the meantime keep loving the crap out of yourself the best you can!!!!
